New Client Paperwork

Here’s how Conquer Tobacco Naturally coaching works, and why it takes a 12 week commitment

The basis of my coaching is this: A specialty coaching relationship is better than any currently available method, technique, or approach to quit tobacco. Why? This I employ¾and individualize for you¾the latest scientific research from all fields of health and wellness, and especially naturopathic medicine + I use a validated lab test to guide your process of quitting. This means a 91% success rate vs. ~15% for traditional methods (research presented in my book).

We’ll be in contact each week, for 12 weeks (sometimes a little more time is needed; sometimes a little less) by telephone and/or e-mail. Why 12 weeks? Assessing, readying, implementing, and monitoring the effects of natural remedies (and your corresponding biochemical changes) takes time; also the habit part of tobacco use takes about 30 days to change, and there are undoubtedly smoking-related issues that we'll need to work out with coaching. This kind of preparation takes time and care. Support is a hallmark of coaching, and you’ll also be able to reach me via the telephone, through e-mail and a special pager number I provide to all my clients. I want you to be able to reach me for any questions or concerns, when you need to.

We start with your smoking history; then we assess your biochemistry using a test kit I’ll send these to you. I’ll coach you how to begin an easy, brief record of your baseline biochemical markers, which we’ll compare against throughout the course of your smoking cessation. (More details on the in-home test we use, below).

We’ll talk about your needs, goals, and lifein depth. Based on these, I’ll propose a course of naturopathic intervention for you. The decision to proceed or modify will always rest with you!

Please understand that as a tobacco user your body is not yet prepared quit nicotine: that’s why your body reacts by withdrawal symptoms and urges if you quit without the proper biological and psychological preparation. Coaching involves determining what’s lacking in your body and what needs to be replaced—that’s why I use a smoking history and show you how to use a daily 15-second urine test. We’ll be monitoring biochemical markers to tell us when you can quit without feeling any withdrawal or urges (this is what we use the test for). This is based on research by Dr. Stan Schachter, Dr. Rudolf Wiley, Dr. Robert O. Young, Dr. Charles Gant, Dr. Greg Lewis, and myself, to name a few. This is detailed throughout my book.

Also, you’ll have the option to let me send you any nutrients, amino acids, or other supplements we discuss and agree upon or you may wish to obtain them yourself. You won’t begin any actual quitting until your test values show you’re ready. Then, the naturopathic interventions will begin to support your body as you eliminate nicotine, and begin to rebuild you toward health, as you continue to be smoke-free.

Then, after you’ve stopped, you’ll have an option for full year of phone and Internet follow-up to support you staying off cigarettes for good. Anybody can stop for a few days. It’s the staying-off that counts!

I’ve had an impressive success rate of better than 91%. This was measured at the end of the one-year follow-up period. My clients appreciate the freedom that comes from specialized stop smoking coaching—I sincerely wish the same for you.

5 Reasons to say ‘Yes’ to Coaching:

  1. You're ready...and I'm a coach who can probably help you: coaching is personalized to meet your needs because every person’s addiction & habit is different, though similar! In my book I explain how to measure and safely prepare your body’s biochemistry for readiness to quit…without the usual withdrawal, anxiety or stress. Personalized smoking cessation is the key: consumers today are hungry for more personal contact but have busy lifestyles. Specialty coaching is an excellent solution for personal contact using today’s technologies. Here's how I coach my clients: my manifesto, of sorts.
  2. No other smoking cessation program or method uses an actual lab test that tells you when your body is ready! What would you think of a physician who didn’t perform diagnostic and evaluative tests before, during and after treating you for a serious disorder? Smoking is a serious issue, and I use research-validated testing. I instruct you how to use a simple urine test twice each day before you stop; twice each day while you’re stopping; and once daily after you’ve quit.
  3. I have a high rate of success with my clients—over 91%
  4. Coaching is very affordable, especially when you look at the savings from not smoking. If you elect to participate in the in-home stop-smoking research project (no drugs or risk is involved), you will be paid! Ask me about this.
  5. You’ve come to a place in your life where you value your health differently, and are ready to take intelligent action. Perhaps it’s for yourself, solely; perhaps it includes your children and other loved ones.

5 Reasons to say ‘No’ to Coaching

  1. You’re not ready to invest in your health; or you find tobacco too enjoyable to quit
  2. You’d rather try more of the traditional methods
  3. You’re afraid or skeptical of alternative approaches
  4. You feel you can’t afford the fees (remember, fees are charged to your credit card, so you can pay them off with your cigarette savings!). But can you really afford to smoke? Send for my 60 second Excel spreadsheet to see the total cost of your habit, and what your ROI will be: click here.
  5. You believe that in these uncertain social and financial times, it's better to be conservative. (Please see Question 12, in my 16 Most FAQs.)
